Adding custom shipping options to online orders

Online ordering can increase your revenue by up to 40%!  With Ecommerce in the Springboard you can easily add custom shipping methods to make shopping on your website a breeze. Follow the steps in this article to set up your own custom shipping rates.

To add your own custom shipping options: 

1. Click My Website > Website Settings.

2. Click Shopping Cart, then click Shipping.

3. In the Custom shipping methods area click Add Shipping Method

4. Your shipping method will be active by default. Toggle to No to turn off your new shipping method. 

5. Enter a Title for your shipping method. The title will display to customers in the “Select a Shipping Method” list in ecommerce checkout.

6. Choose the Type of method. You have three choices for calculating your shipping rates: 

• Subtotal: Calculate your shipping rates as a percentage of or a flat rate based on the total cost of the items ordered.
• Quantity: Calculate shipping rates based on the quantity of items ordered. 
• Weight: Calculate your shipping rates based on the total weight of items ordered. 

7. Enter your Shipping Tiers for your chosen method.


Subtotal

• Use the Add Tier button to calculate your shipping charges.

• Enter a Greater than/Equal to ($) amount, and a Less than ($) amount. The Greater than/Equal to ($) amount is optional, but each tier requires a Less than ($) amount
• Enter a Price ($) for this tier. 
• If necessary, enter an Additional % amount for this tier. 
• Click Add Tier to enter your next tier. 

Note: The Greater than/Equal to ($) amount will autofill based on the previous tier. 

• Once you are satisfied with your tiers, enter a Markup

Note: This step is optional, and when completed will add either a dollar amount or a percentage to the calculated shipping costs.

• 
Set your Shipping Zones. You can choose: 

• Everywhere (No zones Specified): This will allow you to ship everywhere in the world.
• Countries: Choose specific countries for which to ship. 

Note: You can click Add All to add all of the countries, then click the X next to the countries you wish to remove.

• 
Multiple States/provinces: Choose your preferred country from the dropdown menu, then select your preferred States or Provinces.

Note: You can click Add All to add all States or Provinces associated with your chosen country, then click the X  next to the States or Provinces you wish to remove.

• 
Multiple ZIP/postal codes: Choose your preferred country in the dropdown menu, then enter a list of ZIP or postal codes for the selected country. Place each ZIP or postal code on it’s own line. 

• Click Save & Finish.

 

Quantity

• Use the Add Tier button to calculate your shipping charges.

Weight

• Use the Add Tier button to calculate your shipping charges.

• Enter a Price ($) for this tier. 
• If necessary, enter an $ per LB for this tier. 
• Click Add Tier to enter your next tier.

Once you are satisfied with your tiers, enter a Markup.

Finish setting up your catalogs by activating ecommerce as the checkout method. You’ll need to do this sitewide, on any catalogs with which you will be using ecommerce shipping rates.

To activate Ecommerce checkout on the catalogs that contain items to be shipped:

  • Click My Website > Website Content
  • Locate the page where your catalog exists, and click the Page Title to edit the content on that page.
  • Click the gear icon for the Catalog content type, then Edit Checkout Method.
  • Choose Ecommerce
  • If necessary, enter a Tax Rate.
  • Click Save & Close.

Custom shipping rates are easy to set up with the Springboard, allowing you to bring in more revenue with your online catalogs.
