Solution

Your portal users can update their password along with other profile information inside the portal. This allows them to reset the password you initially provide to them. If your portals don't already have an Update Your Profile page, add one.

Log into your Springboard and follow these steps:

1. Add the page:

  • Click My Website, and then Portals.
  • Click the portal title and then Add Page.
  • Page Title: Type a title, such as Your Profile
  • Filename: This is automatically created based on the page title. Using the given filename is recommended but you can edit if preferred.
  • Page Location: Leave this set to Portal Root
  • Design Layout: Leave set to Default Layout, or if the portal is using a specific layout, select it from the list.
  • Content Template: Leave this set to None
  • Display this page in the site navigation: Yes
  • Encrypt this page's content using SSL: No
  • Search Engine Title: Optional because a portal is in a password-protected environment. However, if you do not want your organization's name to display in the browser page title, then it may be beneficial to add the portal name and/or page title here.
  • Search Engine Description: Leave blank.
  • Site Map Priority: Normal (Default)
  • Click Save & Finish
  • Drag and drop the page where you want it to display in the portal menu.

2. Add content to the page:

  • Click the page title, or click the gear icon and Manage Content.
  • Click Add Content
  • Content Type: Select User Profile Manager and keep the Content Location as Primary Content.
  • Click Save & Close.
  • Select Which Profile Fields the User Can Manage: All are selected by default. Click to de-select any fields you do not want users to manage, if any.
  • Click Save & Close.

You have created a page that contains the User Profile fields and data you have entered, which your customers can view and update. Feel free to click Add Content to add more content to the page, such as headline and text.

TIP: Follow the steps to add this page into the default ***Template Portal***, and the page will automatically be included each time you add a new portal and clone the Template Portal.
